As you begin to take action toward the fulfillment of your goals and dreams, you must realize that not every action will be perfect. Not every action will produce the desired result. Not every action will work. Making mistakes, getting it almost right, and experimenting to see what happens are all part of the process of eventually getting it right. Jack Canfield.
How often do you think of a great idea and then back away saying to yourself “but it wouldn’t work” only to find two weeks down the track someone else has implemented the idea with great success? Or may be you had the great idea but just didn’t implement it quickly enough because you though it had to be perfect. To be a leader in business you have to take some of those risks and try the innovative ideas. To be a leader in your field you have to get out there and just do it.
Why we procrastinate:
- Organising thoughts and actions is difficult.
- Tasks seem overwhelming.
- Fear of disapproval.
- Self doubt, Guilt, Habitual, dodging.
Recognise what stops you, then you can take actions to overcome:
- Make a list of what needs to get done.
- Prioritize these
- Work out how long it will take what you need in the way of resources
- Book it into your calendar to do.
