I have read a lot of books on how to build a successful business. I have read an extensive range of “How To” books for a range of different entrepreneurs. Believe it or not, every single book I have read has at least one chapter about confidence and how it is the key to success.
Confidence plays a major role in everyone’s lives, it is said that people with high levels of confidence expect and experience greater success. How you think and feel about yourselves has an enormous impact on how you perform in your business as well.
If you find yourself asking, “Why is confidence the key to success for my business?” Well, I like to say that confidence is defined to a few key points:
- How strongly you believe in your capabilities to learn new skills
- Perform at a certain level
- Attain a goal or achieve your own definition of success.
It is no secret that confidence is the most important psychological contributor to performance in the business world because a person can have all the ability in the world to accomplish a goal, but without the believe in their ability and the fact that they can do it, they won’t be able to use their ability to the fullest and accomplish their goal.
When I ask people what comes first out of success or knowledge – 9 times out of 10 they say success because they believe that in order to be confident you have to be successful. That is not true. If you believe that reasoning, they you likely won’t achieve a substantial success because, lacking in confidence won’t let you take the risk of giving it everything you’ve got, which is necessary for Real Success.
